SEVENTEEN Carat Land 10th: Why This Farewell Made Every CARAT Cry

Nobody warned us. Nobody said bring tissues. And yet here we are — CARATs worldwide are still recovering from the 10th Carat Land. Same.

SEVENTEEN held their annual fan meeting at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on June 21-22, 2026. On the surface: same beloved Carat Land they have built over a decade — games, performances, fan interactions, chaos. But this year had something heavier underneath. For many members, this was one of their last big moments together before mandatory military service takes more of them away.

What Made This Carat Land Different

Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi are already serving. Nine members took the stage at Incheon — and Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino are expected to enlist in the second half of 2026. By the end of this year, SEVENTEEN as a full unit will be on pause.

The show was built around an express train to Carat Land concept — members emerging on a train-shaped lift, launching into Together, Heaven's Cloud, and My My. It was joyful. Then the second half hit and everyone started crying.

The Moments That Broke Everyone

S.Coups cried. The leader got visibly tearful. He said: "What once drove me was competition and ambition, but I now find greater fulfillment in performing with my members." Eleven years in, and the man who started all of this is still learning how to say it out loud. I needed a moment.

Mingyu promised: "When we return in two to three years, I think that's when our second chapter will truly begin. We'll return having grown and changed, and I hope you'll continue to love us then too."

DK shared that preparing for this fan meeting had been emotional because he knew there would not be another one like it for a while. He promised to return as a better man with new music. The specificity of that — not just I will be back, but a better man with new music — hit different.

Then the surprise: Hoshi and Wonwoo, currently serving, appeared in the audience to support their bandmates. Nobody expected it. The stadium exploded. Over 40,000 people screaming at once is a sound I imagine CARATs in that stadium will never forget.

The night closed with Tiny Light, Beautiful, Love Letter, and Us, Again. If you know SEVENTEEN, you know what those songs mean. If you do not — just know that the whole stadium was sobbing.

The Detail That Wrecked Everyone

During the group photo, SEVENTEEN left empty spaces for Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi — the four members currently enlisted. They held those spaces visually. On Weverse, fans immediately responded: "They left spaces for the members who are enlisted. You have to be with us when all of us are 13 again." That one image defined the whole weekend.

Korean Side vs Global Side

Korean CARATs on TheQoo and Weverse sat with the grief quietly and with pride. The reaction was not do not go — it was go, grow, and come back to us. Many praised the group for making a nine-member stadium show feel complete, not diminished. The empty photo spaces became the image that spread everywhere.

International CARATs on Reddit and X processed the grief more visibly. OT13 in 2028 was trending. Fan accounts posted countdowns. Mingyu's second chapter quote became the rallying cry. Global fans latched onto the future promise harder — maybe because distance already makes the present hard enough. "Goodbye SEVENTEEN! See you in 2028." That spread across every platform within hours.

The Gap

Korean fans looked at the empty spaces — the four members who could not be there. Global fans looked forward at Mingyu's promise of what is coming. Both are forms of love. One grieves what is temporarily missing; one builds anticipation for what is ahead. That is the Carat Land gap. And after following both communities for years, I can tell you it is very real.

What Comes Next for SEVENTEEN

They are not disappearing quietly. The8 and Vernon launch subunit V8 on June 29 with a self-titled EP and a summer concert. Dino drops solo music under his alter ego Picheolin on August 3. Going Seventeen returns with a new season. They are leaving breadcrumbs. CARATs will not go hungry.

Full reunion: 2028. All 13. Second chapter. We are holding the space.
