New to Stray Kids? Welcome. You picked a great time to start — 2026 is shaping up to be one of their biggest years yet. Already familiar but want a refresher? Also welcome. Either way, this is the guide you need.
Stray Kids (스트레이 키즈) are an eight-member boy group under JYP Entertainment who debuted in March 2018. They're known as one of the defining groups of the 4th generation K-pop era — not just for their music, but for the fact that the members write, compose, and produce almost everything themselves through their sub-unit 3RACHA. That creative control is rare. It's also a huge part of why their fanbase, STAY, is so intensely loyal.
In 2024, they became the first K-pop group in history to have four consecutive albums sell over 3 million copies each. In 2026, they're still going. Hard. Let's meet them.
The 8 Members of Stray Kids
Bang Chan (방찬)
Leader · Main Vocalist · Rapper · 3RACHA · Born October 3, 1997 (Age 28)
The leader and the backbone of the whole group. Bang Chan — real name Christopher Bang — was born in Seoul but grew up in Australia, which means he's fully bilingual and has become the main bridge between Stray Kids and their international fanbase through his weekly "Chan's Room" livestreams. He's been with JYP since he was 16, trained for seven years before debuting, and has produced or co-produced the majority of Stray Kids' discography. The STAY community essentially runs on "Chan's Room" clips going viral at 3am. It's a whole ecosystem.
Lee Know (리노)
Main Dancer · Vocalist · Born October 25, 1998 (Age 27)
Real name Lee Minho. Before Stray Kids, he was a backup dancer for BTS — so yes, he has genuinely danced alongside BTS on stage, which is a fact that lives rent-free in STAY's heads. He's widely considered one of the best dancers in 4th gen K-pop, and his cat Dori has an unofficial fan following of its own. Lee Know's charisma on stage versus his slightly unhinged off-stage energy is one of the great K-pop contrasts of our time.
Changbin (창빈)
Main Rapper · 3RACHA · Born August 11, 1999 (Age 26)
The main rapper and one-third of 3RACHA alongside Bang Chan and Han. Changbin has one of the fastest rap flows in K-pop — there are fan projects dedicated entirely to timing his syllables per second. He writes dark, intense rap lyrics and then goes and posts the most adorable gym content on his personal accounts. The contrast never gets old. He's also one of the group's primary workout enthusiasts, which has spawned an entire "buff Changbin" appreciation era among STAYs.
Hyunjin (현진)
Main Dancer · Vocalist · Visual · Born March 20, 2000 (Age 26)
The visual of the group — and an actual fine artist outside of music. Hyunjin regularly exhibits paintings and artwork, some of which have sold commercially. He's also one of the two main dancers alongside Lee Know, known for his fluid, highly expressive style that bridges contemporary dance and K-pop choreography. Off stage, he's known for being unexpectedly deep and philosophical in interviews, which leads to a steady stream of "Hyunjin said something profound again" posts from STAYs.

Han (한)
Main Rapper · Vocalist · 3RACHA · Born September 14, 2000 (Age 25)
Real name Yang Jeongin — don't confuse him with I.N, also Yang Jeongin. (Yes. Two members share the same Korean name. It's chaotic. STAYs are used to it.) Han is the emotional engine of 3RACHA and arguably the most prolific songwriter in the group, regularly credited on tracks across multiple albums. He wears his feelings visibly — his lyrics are often raw and personal, and his solo work skews deeply introspective. The solo track "ZOLGAN I" is frequently cited by fans as one of the most emotionally affecting things Stray Kids have put out.
Felix (필릭스)
Dancer · Vocalist · Born September 15, 2000 (Age 25)
Lee Felix. Born and raised in Sydney, Australia — making him and Bang Chan the group's Australian duo. Felix is instantly recognizable for two things: his deep bass speaking voice (which is genuinely shocking the first time you hear it coming from him) and his freckles, which have become one of the most beloved physical features in all of K-pop fandom. He's the group's most internationally relatable member for English-speaking fans and consistently one of the most-mentioned STAYs on global social media. His solo content gets disproportionate engagement. Every single time.
Seungmin (승민)
Main Vocalist · Born September 22, 2000 (Age 25)
Kim Seungmin. The group's main vocalist alongside Woojin-era fans will remember him as the one who somehow ended up doing everything — subunit work, solo tracks, acting. He had a notable acting appearance in the Korean drama The Uncanny Counter series and has been developing a parallel career in that direction. He's also an avid baseball fan, which has led to a very niche but extremely dedicated corner of STAY Twitter dedicated to his baseball game attendance records.
I.N (아이엔)
Vocalist · Maknae (youngest) · Born February 8, 2001 (Age 25)
Real name Yang Jeongin — yes, same as Han. I.N is the maknae (youngest member) of the group and has been with Stray Kids since before their official debut through the survival show that formed the group. He's grown up entirely in the public eye alongside his members, and his evolution from the youngest, quietest member to a confident performer with increasingly sharp stage presence has been one of the more quietly satisfying arcs in 4th gen K-pop. STAYs who've been around since 2018 are extremely proud of him.

What Makes Stray Kids Different?
A lot of K-pop groups claim creative input. Stray Kids actually do it. 3RACHA — Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han — started as an underground rap unit before the group even officially debuted, and they've maintained consistent production credits across every album since. The group's darker, heavier sound (what fans call "noise music") was an active creative choice, not a label directive. That authenticity is rare and STAYs know it.
The other thing that sets them apart is the parasocial ecosystem they've built. Bang Chan's "Chan's Room" late-night livestreams have become a genuine institution — hours-long unscripted sessions where he talks to fans, plays music, and just exists. They create a sense of genuine closeness that most groups' scheduled content can't replicate.

💬 Jamie's Take:
"I remember when people used to ask me if Stray Kids were worth getting into. I don't get that question anymore. In 2026, asking if Stray Kids are worth it is like asking if you should try breathing. The answer is obvious. Eight members, each genuinely distinct, each pulling their creative weight — and a production team that happens to be three of those same eight members. If you're new here, welcome. Your wallet is about to suffer. It's worth it."
